Ah yes, for useless lazy people who cant park their car !
From an engineering point of view though that is seriously cool, self driving cars have been around for some time, the best one ive seen is the BMW they had on top gear that done a hot lap of the track with Jeremy inside the car
Googles car is pretty damn good too, shame its based on a Prius.....
Why the hell doesnt one of these companies think, you know what lets still all of this tech into a KITT replica ! live the dream, lol

GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, YET ANOTHER REASON TO BUY AN AUDI, AS IF I DID NOT HAVE A LIST ALREADY
As they say 'There's an app for that''
Seriously, I can not see this being 'real' maybe another one of those systems advertised in 2013 but wont be available until 2025, and if it is real Insurance companies will SHIT, when someone phones in an accident i.e
'Yes Ma'am I understand you are calling in regards to the recent collision involving your car and an Audi, I understand you were parking your vehicle in an underground car park, when your vehicle was struck by this Audi, But who was driving it and why did you not exchange details there and then ?
... Well you see noone was driving it, It drove itself ...
CLICK .........
Hello ?........
Hello ?? ......'
I'm sorry guys as much as I would love to say this will bring us one step closer to a real life KITT, my skeptic side says things like this will be either a gimmik, very expensive, totally unrealistic or very short lived once the insurance companies, police and our wonderful government have their say .
but that said imagine the looks on the faces on people when you come out of a restaurant and the valet says 'can I get your car sir?' and you say 'no thank you I'll get it' , as you pull out your phone press a button and a few short moments later KITT rolls up, and with a little electronic wizardry the doors open as he stops too
All I can say dear friends is 'ONE DAY , ONE DAY'

What happens when you go to a multi storey car park... Its hard enough finding a space the best of times... The car will just drive slowly around & around & around until it slowly runs out of fuel... Lol.

How come when the car drives itself the speedo doesn't move....but as soon as she drives it away it instantly moves up???
Also, why are the windows tinted black....wouldn't they want the windows clear so you can see nobody inside?
Maybe I'm a pessamist, or this is just a good marketing stunt?!

In the interest of simplicity, we should all just do this with our cars...

Oh YEAH (if you mean the big blue kind of things on the video, one on the kerb right at the start, one near the barrier as the car enters the lot, and one further in from the entrance)
Not sure if they have anything to do with it, because if sensors need to be placed everywhere, it will cost Audi TRILLIONS, they are probably something not related to the car, my guess is if it is real the software and sensors need to run it will all be onboard the car.
But I still think it is a gimmik that will be short lived when the insurance companies, police and our government have their say
&
On the Audi official UK website, and bogg standard AUDI S6
(Which I think is the car shown on the advert) is upwards of £37,000 so by the time you add a few other optional extras to make 'piloted parking' work you're up to £55,000ish
So normal people can not afford it anyway ho-hum
