Most people have some kind of "tic" for something, besides our Knight Rider tic, what else do you have a tic for?

My tic started about ten years ago, when I bought my first '97 Mazda Xedos 6...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I sold it five or six years later, I started to live on my own for the first time and it all became a little to expensive for me.
But a while later, I bought one again, a '97 model.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Later I repainted it in white...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

About a year later someone hit the front side by leaving a parking space.
(he forgot my car was behind him)

So now my front bumper has a crack in it, driving light and grill are broken and the bonnet not 100% anymore.

Not much later I stored the car in a caravan storing place and bought a '94 Mercedes Combi.
But I missed my Xedos, so I bought a second one, a '93....

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I don't know what it is, but I'm just grazy about this model, a lot of people don't even know the car or are surpriced to hear that it's an "old" car.

It's a big part of my fun in life, so I decided to start a collection with it.
From every year minimal one car, al kind of different colors and versions.

I prefer to choose the colors that are not seen many.
So after the bordeaux red one I bought about 1,5 week later a '92 grey / blue one...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Later I replaced the ugly rims by the original ones...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Again about 1,5 week later I bought a fourth one, a black '97...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Last weekend I also bought a 2000 Xedos 9... (V6, 2.5 AUT)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The last one (for now) that I bought is one more Xedos 6, a '94...
A manual one with spoiler, all the other Xedos 6 models I have are automatic. (also V6 2.0)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Group photo!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The white Xedos is parked inside the caravan storing pace.

So this is my BIG tic I have!

Now I have seen a Xedos 6 in a pretty rare color...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It's located in Carlow Town, Carlow, Ireland.
I want to try to get this car aswell. Smile

Is anyone close located to this car?

The car is actually becoming rare.

The Xedos from the link is a different color, it's more brown / gold, also not seen much.
Now you make me even more grazy, I don't have that color yet and I have never seen one for sale here in The Netherlands in that color!! Now I need to sell even more parts to buy that one aswell! Hahahaha

I like to go for the one in Ireland, because that color is really unique.
I already contacted a lot of transport companies for prices aswell.

The problem I have is, when I bought it, I need a place to store it (in or outside) somewhere off the public road.
Then I have time to save up and as soon as I have saved enough, I can let a transport company pick up the car.

I have a similar thing with Honda Preludes.

I've had around 8 of them i think.

I keep buying a different car then going back to a Prelude.

Cool Mazda Xedos collection Smile I think they were available here in Finland too for few years during the 1990's.
I've had two Mazda's, my first car was 1982 Mazda 323 Hatchback and later I got 1990 323 sedan. Nice cars.

I think my other "tic" or other hobby is collecting modelcars and it started in 2004 when ERTL Joyride released the Knight Rider KITT in 1/18 Smile Have since collected mostly ordinary road cars in 1/43 scale, main theme being 1980's road cars but have some modern cars and older cars as well.
So far I have 159 modelcars in 1/43 scale, here's two groupshots about some of them:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The Netherlands based NEO Scale models have resin model about Mazda Xedos 6 in met. red and blue:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Addition: I forgot NEO was purchased by Modelcarworld.de so it may be these days actually a German company.

NEO has also made 3 generations of Honda Prelude in resin:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Minichamps also have one generation of Honda Prelude in metal, in red and black colours. Here's my red Prelude:

Also a nice collection!

In the past I collected 1:18 model cars, I had about 80 from them.
Then I sold them all and bought my first real car. Smile

I couldn't resist this car, it's a very special one, a 1999 Xedos 9 Miller version, this means it has a very special developed, it has also 211 BHP!!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The red part actually has to be black, so I'm going to remove the red paint from it again.

Also made a nice Wallpaper...

Very nice Xedos Smile Mazdas are usually quite reliable cars even when driven a lot of kilometers.

Added just few days ago myself the current Mazda 6 GJ in my modelcar collection Wink

Very nice Smile I like your collection theme of collecting all colours and years of this car.

One Mazda I admired but never had myself was the 1983-85 626 GLX which had the Compact Disc style hubcaps and audible warning system which played little "Nintendo" melodies when the door was open, washer fluid was low, etc. If I had a place to keep 1:1 cars, that one I'd like to have Smile
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The same generation of 626 which rear ended Devon's classic car in the episode "Custom KITT" Wink

That's also a nice model, you almost never see one aymore, it's becoming a real classic.

A few days ago I saw a car for sale that's also on my "like to have" list, I couldn't resist it, so I bought and picked it up yesterday night.

It's a '90 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, but it needs a lot of work...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I will clean it next week and take some new photos from it.

It has no engine, transmission, exhaust and drivers side window, but further it's mre or less complete.
Most interior parts are not installed but are all laying inside the car, the rear bumper is also there, but it's only not installed.

Before I start restoring this unique car I'm going to finish my KITT, because it doesn't drive anymore and needs a new paint job, but I can't hardly wait to work on the 300ZX, wow what a car if you see it in real!!!

The seller of the car also had another one, he's converting it for drifting, it has the Twin Turbo 300 bhp engine and an automatic transmission.
He's going to replace the engine by one which has 400 bhp and is going to install a manual transmission aswell.
He's planning to convert it in the summer, so after that I can take over the original engine with the automatic transmission for my car, exactly what I wanted! Smile

They were fantastic cars back when they were new. The twin turbos are still very fast today and a lot of them had t-tops too. Lamborghini borrowed the headlamps to use on their Diablo. Good luck with the restoration, Joao. .you will have a really good car when it's finished.

Thanks my friend!

Yeah, they are indeed still very fast, I read from 0 to 60 Miles in 5.7 or 5.9 seconds.

I'm going to restore it perfectly, can't wait to start with it and drive it for the first time!!

Agreed. With the right aftermarket rims, wide tyres and a straight paintjob they look fantastic. There are lots of bodykits and spoilers available for this model and it's easy to go overboard on modifying them. I've seen plenty that look over the top with mods..air scoops on the bonnet, sill skirts and ridiculous rear spoilers..they turn the car into a cartoon.

After washing it turned out pretty nice....

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The durty spots on the drivers side, (fenders, door, and door styles) is tape, so I still can remove them.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I installed the rear bumper just with two nuts, so it's not mounted properly yet.
Also just put in the rear seat to see how it looked...

After a little cleaning to remove the dust....

I like to make it stock, if the spoiler is originally on it, then I will leave it on, I like it more without it actually.
I also like the small upper tail lights which normally is under the spoiler, but this one doesn't have it, so the tail lights are looking longer.

Yeah, it turned out really nice, the whole front side and doors are really smooth and perfectly painted!
Only the rear needs body work.

Pitty that it doesn't have an engine and transmission in it yet, else I would make a small cruise with it. Smile
