It sure remindes me from Orwell's 1984 nightmare, everything seems to go just like in that book, there's systems like Facebook to collect information without people realising it, surveillance cameras everywhere, speed cameras, even the EU logo looks like a lense of a surveillance camera!

What happened to the freedom of the people, Soviet Union collapsed over 20 years ago, one would've thought the world would develope towards the freedom but especially after 9-11-2001 it started to go to the opposite

It remindes me also from the old 60's tv series "The Prisoner" where the guy was brought in this weird village, the government wanted information, didn't let anyone away from the island ever or the big white balloon came and choked them to death, monitored everything, even named the main character a Number Six and he just resisted them in all possible ways. He stated that "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!".

Well there not the only ones data mining you,, people info is big business,, if you have a tesco club card trust me they know ALOT about you. Tesco is one of the largest UK collectors of information, you'd probably be surprised what they know!

I don't know other countries but Finland is planning to start collecting road tax using satellite surveillance. Some kind of device would be mandatory in cars so the Big Brother would know at all times where you are.
I hope the system gets destroyed in a collision with space debris...
