My new front nose and...
Tue Nov 24, 2015 7:29 pm
I need to say something, because it seems that there are people who think that I have made a copy from Sascha's (Sky Automative from Germany) Original front nose.
My new model front nose is NOT!! a copy from Sascha!!
Now Sascha thinks that I have copied and selling his one, because there are people who told him that.
I have created the front nose from scratch, from 0% to 100% out of foam, compelely cut out with a simple large knife...

Sascha allowed me to copy his if I only would use it for my own KITT.
The copy that I have from it looks like this...

Does this look good?...good to make a mold from??...NO!!!
A front nose has to be made smooth and painted.
It even doesn't fit well at all, because the sides (bottom area) are sticking out so much, that I can put more then a finger in the gap.
At this moment the front nose still looks exactly the same as on the photos, so it's impossible to copy and sell it.
So please stop thinking and saying that my new model front nose is actually Sascha's Original front nose.
Thank you.
João

Sascha is the owner of this garage...

He bought a KITT from Ebay in the past which seems to be an original KITT, most likely a stunt car from the first season.

I'm thinking about a new (December) deal again, in case someone will buy a front nose or dashboard you get a steering wheel for half the price.
Maybe I will be open for all kind of deals in December if someone needs more then one part.

I still think your noses are top notch mate
Plus, you obviously have the skill to create your own as we've all seen so why copy another? I remember seeing the pictures of the car you were designing and building. Very talented man.
Peter.

Whilst I've seen the great efforts from many makers of the KITT nose there is only so far you can go with design changes.
The strength, fit and rigidity is another area that should be mentioned too. After all we don't want them cracking and the like after taking all the time to fit and paint them.
The interesting thing is it's only the fibreglass parts ,that I'm aware of ,that gets this stigma from some of 'YOU'VE COPIED MY PARTS'!, when in essence they've all 'copied' the idea from Mike scheffe!
I would be flattered if I created something and someone thought it worthy to reproduce.I understand too it's annoying that all the work you put into it can be treated by another as a quick way to make a quick buck.
I think too the creator/maker should have their reputation above all speak volumes about their parts and THAT alone should be what makes them good sales and a popular seller of parts.
Customer feedback s the way to go here.
Joao I've hard NOTHING but GOOD stuff about you and your parts so hold you head up and know you are a genuine contributor to the scene as I know many will verify. Ignore the petty comments from the jealous ones. Your integrity is safe in this hobby.

Thanks guys for the great words!!
I will always continue with offering parts and hope to offer more in the near future.
I still want to improve some of my parts, it's only pitty that it all costs so much money, so it's not going as fast as I want.
The next new part I want to offer will be the 4th season switch pod unit.
Also the "creating parts" pages on my site will be improved, because I'm not happy with the way it looks and works now.
(same thing for "mounting instructions", this area really needs better photos and information.
