hi all

just woundering how thick the plastic for the overlays is as may make my own.
what type of plastic is it?

Its 2mm thick black screened polystyrene board basically. this is then either laser or cnc machine cut and etched.

thanks rik sorry havent been on in a while.
can i use clear acrylic plastic? if so how thick and what type of paint could i use.

i wouldnt recommend clear acrylic ( if you mean perspex ) its too brital. if you want to use anything id recommend some black polystyrene sheets ad then some white screen print or letracet.

sorry rik iam looking at doing overlays diffrent but scaner light has acrylic

Yes the scanner lens is acrylic and fairly thick. Its worth a go. Id be interested to know how it turns out though with all those small openings.

The overlays made by a lasersystem.
That`s why it`s plastic .
The heatlaser cut the plastic .
