Prob £150-200.....depends on the value they put down on them? Thats just me guessing though....I was around £120 in import fees on the last carpet set I Imported, with a declared value of $400 on it?

It's mad I think sometimes they just pull a number out the sky as everyone has a different story to tell, think it would be safe to say if you prepare to pay around £100 then you shouldn't be too surprised when it comes to collecting them from the nazis er sorry I mean parcel force lol, just make sure the sender marks them low

The high fees we are seeing now are supposedly due to the change in the way they calculate Customs fees now.

Up until recently the fees were calculated on the value of the ITEM ONLY, but they have now changed this so that they charge on the total value of ITEM & SHIPPING Evil or Very Mad

So if you got something shipped from the US a while ago for £100 + £400 shipping the Customs charge would have been about £25 - £30 (VAT on £100 + Handling charge), but that same item sent lately would be charged on the whole £500 + Handling fees Evil or Very Mad

thats true tony, it is the total delclared value and that all depends on how nice the sender is too ;-)

the guy I get all my stuff from marks things intelligently, i.e. he doesn't just write obvious '$10 gift'...he actually lists all of the contents of the parcel individually but marks each very low. It's not so blatant that way.

It's worked me for months and I've had loads of stuff from him (£700 in parts plus) and not been stopped once.

Before him, I was getting hit for the silliest things.
