Removing Gage Cluster 82 Trans Am Empty Removing Gage Cluster 82 Trans Am

Mon Mar 10, 2014 2:15 pm

Here is a little video of how I ended up removing my gage cluster from my 82 Trans Am. I made this because of the lack of information I was able to find on how to do this and figured there may be others like me that are completely new to doing any kind of work on cars and building a K.I.T.T. replica so this is my little video on what I had to do.

Now my car has a cruise control and that was where I had to unscrew my speedo cable to gain some slack, other cars may have it just going somewhere to the transmission and you may only need to loosen some wire clips to gain some slack... you'll know when you find where your speedo goes to and how much slack you'll need. On my car the speedo wire had very little slack so this is what I had to do.
Good Luck

Thanks Peter, I'm just hoping it gets information out there that strangely with all the conversions going on kinda surprises me of the lack of information.... Oh well... hopefully that will change Wink

I must admit, I often do things and never think to video or photograph it until it's too late.

I've been going out of my way to document as much as possible. Project K.I.T.T. is doing a lot of awesome documentation as well on his conversion project. He's basically doing a complete teardown and build from the ground up.
