I have a fair load of signed stuff and models etc but was planning on displaying that in the trunk of KITT visible through the back window. Were you planning on having a display out or something?

Be careful with displaying anything in your car, large crowds and sticky fingers come to mind, leave no windows open, I'm sure people will be fine but there is always a select few out to spoil things, at least with the props area its a bit more secure and more people will see it

My car is never left open lol, the windows will be down slightly for the audio side of things as long as its not raining Nothing is on show up front to steal, plus KITT will be in surveillance mode

unlike ANY car based event I have been to, KnightCon this year will have the cars behind barriers and security patrolling! I would say though like any show the care and responsibility is down to the individual car owner.

Im liking the idea of the cars being behind barriers, theres nothing worse than having careless parents with prams or pushchairs rubbing up against cars. I have been on the lookout for some sort of barrier system that I can take to events so when my KITT is on display I can keep him behind some sort of roped off area to keep unwanted hands off his shiney paintwork. Does anyone know of where I can get something simple like what they have in airports, with those posts with like seatbelt type material that pulls out and locks into the next post etc.

Ebay do them but as per usual they are not cheap as such.

Thanks for that Rik, thats just what I was thinking of getting All I need to work out now is how many I need to fit around KITT leaving a good 5 foot gap from the car just incase some dingbat knocks a post over, it wont fall on the car.

Is the barrier service available for all the replicas attending then? That's good news! I'm coming on the Friday for VIP night but kitt will arrive on Saturday morning by low loader as he's still not ready lol. What time do all the cars have to be there on the Saturday to get "set up"?

Im planning on bringing my semi model too but just leaving it in the boot area so its visible through the glass as i did last year, i was hoping to get it signed this year though.

Hi Tim, everyone needs to be with there cars, outside Xscape for 7.00am to get set up due to it being a public area the management dont want any vehicle movement after a certain time.

hi there, i've only just joined the forum but i've been a lurker for many years.
kids, work and family distraction excuses aside, I've been a collector and fan since day one and have quite a big collection of memorabilia but mostly in storage due to many house moves in recent years.
I saw the request for things to display here (which was what prompted me to join) and was totally unaware of knight on coming up!...yes a disgrace I know!
I probably won't have time to get everthing out of storage and make it this year but if there is anything that any body is particularly finding hard to source I may have it and may be able to do something for this year fingers crossed. what are the hard to find items?
anyway, I have boxes of stuff including annuals, books, various models, diecasts, carded stuff, bedding, lampshades, trading cards, stickers, scalextrics, stunt show, erm, loads that I can't remember too.....ask away and. I may have it lol...
anyway, looking forward to reading more on here and hoping to start my own kit replica in the new year....or I may be lazy and buy a part built project if I can....
fun times ahead.
cheers

hi there, yep I'm in paignton and the best case scenario at the moment is to drive down sat morning as we can't get babysitter until the early hours. hoping to get down as early as possible.
bit of a long drive to do there and back in one day so will probably stop over and head back on the early hours of Sunday.
still need to break it to my new boss about going awol on sunday at short notice...
next year I won't leave it so late to get organised :-)
at my parents at the moment making a list and taking photos of my stuff to see what is worth bringing, no point bringing things all that way if others already have them. update later today lol.
cheers,
steve

'as always we are leaving it fashionably late, sorting out what I may take (if needed), short notice cover at work and the oligatory babysitters lol...
when are you both heading up (from St. Austell and Plymouth etc.)?
The earliest we can leave is the very early hours of Sat morning, probably driving through the night and arriving as early as possible. Looking at a 5 hour drive going by what the sat nav says.
Fingers crossed it all goes well and we catch up at the weekend,
Steve, Paignton, TQ3
