I've never noticed that but I'd say you were right, by trying not to promote FORD when the show thanks GM on the closing credits etc. Makes sense.

Seems to be another truck in the episode, look at the number in the bumper, 482 in the photo and 484 in the episode screenshot.
Think I saw one of these trucks also in the background in "Chariot of Gold".
