oil pressure switch

does any one know anything about these. i am thinking this is my problem that its putting to much fuel thru the injectors. i got a new 1 from rock auto and fitted it but it has a full plastic case and the 1 i took off has a metal end. are these different and have a different setting or are they all the same.

id have thought it would have been your fuel pressure regulator that was at fault personally mate not your oil pressure switch.

Oil pressure switch only indicates that the oil pump is producing pressure. In other words, it shows that the pump is picking up oil from the sump and feeding it to the rest of the engine.

If i remember right yours is a TBI unit, i would see if you can get hold of a fuel pressure gauge and check your fuel psi.
Could be an 02 sensor giving out the indication that it needs more fuel, could be the map also not getting enough air flow to mix with the fuel.
