**KNIGHTCON HEADCOUNT**

Hi all,

Not long now until KnightCon is upon us ! its awfully quiet here lately so im just trying to gauge how many of us here from Knight Rider UK will be at the show ?

Also if you are a car owner, let us know if your bringing a KITT replica too so we can get an idea of how many cars to expect

So i will get the ball rolling with, yes i am going and am bringing my KITT

Saltire Knight is deffo coming and possibly his Mrs too.

So 3 guys and 3 "better halfs" lol but no KITT cars this year, they are all still off the road

New Mrs Al ? ooooo, lol. My other half is coming this year too, we will have to set up a KnightCon widows section for them to mingle in and complain about us and cars etc.

I will chime in for Rob and Alan who dont post here, they are both coming in their KITT's, hopefully Alan is as his has developed a clattering noise from the engine which needs looked at ASAP.

Its not the amount of cars we have there though its the people  So i look forward to standing in the carpark until about 2am chatting away to you's as per normal

Well last year we were outside chatting until half 2, then had to have the cars in the right place by 6.30 ish! I never felt so rough :-)

Yeah, we'll be there, but I'm afraid KITT won't be this year.

Rik has bust a gut trying to get KITT done in time, all my windscreen surround is now metal again and I can no longer see daylight through the hole in the rotten off side rear wheel arch, but the bodywork shop I took my hood to a few years back (a company called "Panel & Paint" in Hythe Kent) REALLY did a bodge job on it (whole hood skin is rippled from being sand-blasted with too course a medium and Rik is having to panel beat all the high spots out of it, fillered most of the areas they said they were welding new metal into, and then on the 1 place they did weld a plate in they just spot-welded corners of repair plate onto outer skin, beat the area with a hammer to sink the area down to hide plate, then dumped about 5mm of filler into the crater they had made, so poor Rik has had to get a pull-hammer and pull the whole area out again and panel beat it back into shape), so as you can imagine all this extra work needed on the hood has set Rik back big time and there is just too much left to do in the time we have left before KC.

Rik (bless him) even offered to lend me his KITT to come to KnightCon in, but I really don't want the responsibility of it, I would feel aweful if it got scratched or something whilst in my care, so I'll be coming up in the Cougar instead.

Well theres a positive in not bring KITT then mate, you know hes being sorted out properly by Rik, it also sounds like you need to go down this Panel and Paint place and blast them about their 'repair' job.

Its awesome Rik would let you take his KITT too but i understand driving someone elses car can be the most uncomfortable thing in the world ! i felt that way for about 10 minutes after picking up Peters current car but once i got on the motorway it was fine, lol

Believe me mate, going down to Panel & Paint to blast them about their abortion of a "repair" job would do no good at all. They are aware of how badly they have repaired it already (as I complained about it at the time), but couldn't get any satisfaction out of them.
The boss of the place is a member of a Motorcycle "Gang" and the thugs he has working for him aren't much better, but I only found out how nasty they can be when I went to pick up the hood.  

They had originally agreed to do the hood for £150, but once they started on it he called me down there to show me how bad it was and told me that he could still paint the hood for £150 but it would not be done properly for that price due to the extra work involved, OR..... he could do a proper restoration job on it for £300 and it would look perfect.
I told him I didn't have the £300 at the time, and he agreed that I could pay £150 on collection and then £50 a month for the next 3 months until it was paid off, so I agreed to go ahead with it.

When I went to pick it up, the hood had visible faults but the boss was conveniently absent and his thugs (I mean workers) were breathing down my neck for the full £300, and I was left in no doubt that if I didn't pay up there and then something bad was going to happen. I don't scare easily, but when I said I was only paying £150 all 8 guys in that place stopped what they were doing and crowded around me ready to join in if there was any trouble. Luckily 1 of them managed to get Jason (the boss) on the phone and he confirmed that I was paying the rest in instalments and I got out of there as fast as I could.

Once I got home I phoned Jason myself and told him about the issues with the hood, but he refused to re-do the hood, so I refused to pay the other £150 until he did, then he threatened to send some people round to my house if I didn't pay up, and I told him that he wasn't the only one with "Friends" like that if he wanted to play that way, and in the end it was just left with him saying that I'd better not show my face there again (lol, as if I'd want anything else done there???!!!!).

A few times I have thought about going back and petrol-bombing the place though    

Yeah Rik is a real good egg for offering, but as I said I just didn't want the worry of it. As I said, I would feel truly terrible if it got scratched or something while I'd borrowed it.

Jesus man i didnt know it was that bad ! sounds like the garage i watched on a documentary i watched ages ago where they were secretly filmed taking in customers cars that only needed regular things changed, then they would tell the customer something much more expensive was broke and extort them for more money etc.

Yeah, not nice people at all mate. As I said, I'm not scared easily (being Ex HM Forces I can usually handle myself), but even before the heart attack I probably wouldn't have stood a chance against all 8 of them together and there was no doubt in my mind that it would have been all 8 of them laying the boot in.

soooo sorry to hear that, we have a website here that you can go onto and complain about companies like that, so when the next person wants work done they can check the site to see feedback from previous customers. Do you have something like that/
