overhead console
Wed Jun 16, 2010 9:16 pm
I examine very carefully the best upper console for a s1-2 replica.
The season 2 is a little cheesy i think.
All over buttons no leds.
The season 1 has led button but quite few....
which of them do you think makes the most impression?

Its all down to what season car your building if you building a season 1 then its the pilot season 1 upper, if you want to build a season 2 car then its that but theres quite a few diffferent bits between the season 1 to the season 2 such as lower console so best thing to do first is choose which season you want ot build it will send you the right way then.

Yer i have to agree with dave. People tend to think that the season 1 console is the same as the season 2 and that the big bulky upper is just pilot but thats not the case. the big Bulky upper that has the scrolling leds both up front and in the recessed panel is pilot right the way through season 1 and also comprises 5 rocker switches and a count up display.
Where the season 2 upper contains 4 led push buttons up front, 10 led pushbuttons on the side and then an array of push buttons down its center.
Hope that helps.
Rik

I've mixed and matched mine by making a custom setup for the buttons down the middle and then a season 3 side and front LED assembly. My car has the season 1/2 dash.

As far as I know Christian has ALWAYS done the season 2 switches & buttons (in fact I have them in my upper console)...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I've just checked the Jupiter website, and he's still showing them all as "In Stock".
Hope this helps,
Tony

well jupiter's button array has light leds while s2 button array i think has no lights...just color buttons.
If i am wrong i want to ask smth else....
the led buttons on the left side can work standalone without placed on board?
just open holes in console and stick them into...????

Tony,
Youve misread again aint ya lol.
Were on about the center row of 30 buttons. Hes wanting to know where he can get the keyboard style ones instead of jupiters illuminated ones.
Jupiter is making them at my request and is thinking of marketing them too now.

If you purchase those single led switches from various suppliers then yes they can work stand alone.
Jupiters all come on a board.

Knightridershop does the 10 side buttons as stand alone units if your struggling finding those ones mate.
As soon as i get my row of 30 buttons from jupiter ill be happy to post pics up on here.

Well then, either it's down to the side-effects of all the medications I have to take now because of the heart problem (some of them have been known to cause short-term memory loss etc) or I'm just going plain senile!!!!.....

Then again, it COULD be either the side-effects of all the medications I have to take now because of the heart problem (some of them have been known to cause short-term memory loss etc) or I'm just going plain senile!!!!....
