Lower console installation
Tue Sep 07, 2010 5:22 pm
I look for a nice center console 1982-1984.
Even if i won't find one in reasonable price i will gather piece by piece at low prices.
For the moment i have bought from Amazon 2 refurbished Black Console Lid Caps
for 1982 console.
As i am thinking of buying later a season 2 lower console do i have to remove any parts from console to apply the fiberglass console?
e.g window switches plate will be removed?
If i buy only bottom shell, shifter plate, lid cap am i ready to apply lower console?
How do you find this ??

most people make brackets and attach them to the side of the main console, some sikaflex them in (i wouldn't myself lol if a switch goes out)
Probably better off getting a complete console if you can get one, if you just apply the console without the other bits you may have quite a few gaps to fill around the lower console itself (see below for an example of how they fit on the console)

Best place for lower consoles is KIRAD [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
