Regarding covers and just as footnote to tihs, when googling for info on this I saw an old post by Nick Nu*ent on this and he falsely states that

"All songs in the pilot were the original artists including Take It Easy by The Eagles, Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac, and Hit Me with Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar. I know this because Glen insisted on keeping all the original artists in the 2-hour (what was then a 2 hour) made for tv movie and opted to have covers if the pilot went to series...(helps when you write a book with an episode guide that includes song lists eh?)"

With respect, he is totally wrong on that one. Having been a session musician myself for twenty years I can safely say that those songs in the pilot are covers.

This ties in with my 'Lost Presentation' post. It's possible that the presentation had the original songs but they were replaced for the actual pilot...which gives me a new idea for my re-edit.

I had thought the fleetwood mac ones where genuine myself.... shame on me as I am a fan.

The eagles ones where no argument defo covers, I'm a huge fan (up untill last double album which was tripe! lol)

Yeah, I'm a big FM fan too and they are really great covers, musically they are spot on, it's just the vocals that really give it away...definitely not Christine, Stevie and Lindsey etc.

The cover of 'Gypsy' from Mirage in 'Silent Knight' is really good too. It has an extended instrumental section.
